Randomness

Hello there...

Some comments on the weblog:

Things are going well at the Waltons and the Malones.... I'm very happy with them all, and so much so, that I'd rather play than blog about them currently.

But then, I went to the Avery Legacy blogger (link to your right, check it out it's one of my favorites) and read till chapter 65 (i'm slow). And I've decided to start writing more in her style instead of mine, because I hate my style of writing. It's lame.

So, after my little addiction with World of Warcraft ends around, oh, say, 9:30 tonight, I will blog and update this with more on the family.

Chapter 5: Troubles and the First Additions

Quick Note: Sorry took so long to update this, I've been playing out this so far out, a lot of the kids have been born (but not grown up). I'm only going to do the first few, because I want to be able to show you their personalities too. So, thanks for reading and sorry I'm slow. OH, and thank you so much for all your comments. You are all lovely people to read this (especially since I'm a terrible writer, but I just have too much fun with my Simmies!) Ok, back to the story.

After the extended honeymoon, Anani was glad to finally be able to move into their home. She just needed some sleep, and some "deep deep relaxation" (movie reference). Plus, to finally walk in the home of their mysterious inheritance and make it their own.

The house was goregous. Well, from the front anyways. Roger made a tour of the outside and yelled that looks were rather decieving. Apparently, whomever left this gift for them did not exactly have the funds (ahem) to place windows all around the outside. The front was the only side that seemed complete.

As Anani walked inside, she stopped short. Many of the rooms were blocked off by plaster walls. It appeared there were only two doors and three rooms to which they had access to currently. The Malones would never be able to furnish this house (they had never planned to) and it appeared they wouldn't even have the luxury of living in any of the rooms. Not at first anyways. Anani looked at her new husband (Yes, the first time I was able to say that!) and sighed resignedly. "Might as well bring the furniture in." It filled only one room, and the walls were shabby and the floor was just simple foundation planks. Anani tried to cheer up the room with a few candles, but it was hardly a place to be called home.

Meanwhile...

At the Walton residence, things were going fabulous. The Cormier's were well known in the next town over, Mokena, for their mayo empire. Vamsi had never really talked about her family to Ocean before, so it was a bit of a shock when he met them in their mansion after their honeymoon. Ocean cringed at the thought of the meeting. His parents weren't well off like that, and the whole experience, straight down to the Cuban cigar he got from Mr. Cormier was just bizarre and uncomfortable. He never thought he'd be rolling in the wealth. But they were, and Vamsi's parents bequeathed them a beautiful brownstone in Kingsbury. (It was a goregous house, if I do so say myself... with windows and everything!) The best part was they were just right across the street from their friends.

Anani went to visit the first day they moved in, but standing across the street from their goregous house, their wealth and their succes was strenuous for her. She didn't want them to visit in return. She was embarrassed already at the thought of it.

Roger thought the whole thing was stupid. "They're our friends, Anani. They don't care that all of our belongings fit in one room and that they're cheap." Anani was silent and just looked down at her stomach. Roger patted it, loving. "Besides, I'm sure they'd want to hear the news." Anani's chin was jutted out, stubborn. She loved Vamsi and Ocean with all her heart, after all, wasn't it her that brought them all together? When it came down to it, she was too proud to show her friends that even though she had graduated with full honors... she still had nothing and was still poor. Roger saw his wife's lip tremble a bit but set resolute. He sighed inwardly. This was going to take some time.

Vamsi was confused about the whole thing. Roger came over frequently, shared meals with them. She tried to call but Anani always seemed out of the house or was at work. Roger wouldn't answer her questions, only shrugged and explained things were busy. Vamsi went over and stood on their beautiful stoop, ringing the doorbell, but no answer. She wasn't sure what had happened or what she had done to her friend to make her act this way, but it was very apparent that things weren't going to be like they used to be.

Then Roger came over with some bad news.

To the shock of the Waltons, Anani was 6 months pregnant and... things weren't going well. Roger choked back tears, telling them last night he found her unconcious on the floor. After the ER and some tests, the two found out their baby was struggling to breathe. The doctor prescribed some more tests, and it looked like Anani would be bed-ridden till the birth. If no other complications.

After holding in those tears, at the moment, Roger wept. Vamsi exchanged meaningful glances with hubby Ocean. In all their years as friends in college, they had never seen Roger cry. It was hard to watch and harder to realize that Anani might lose the dearly desired baby... and even herself. Vamsi let out a sob and hugged Roger. She whispered... "I don't care what Anani thinks about me any more. I'm coming over. She needs me."

Roger walked home that night, feeling eased by the support of his friends, but his thoughts were still troubled. Anani would not be happy that Vamsi promised to see her tomorrow.

He shrugged. After a quick phone call to his parents, letting them know how the baby and the wife were doing, he took a long bath, and got into his pajamas. He went in the backyard just to have a few moments to relax with the telescope.

Distracted by the troubles at home, Roger was startled to realize the blue light pouring down from the sky. "Wh- WHAT?!" He grabbed on to the telescope for dear life. What the hell was going on?!!!!! (I was jumping up and down in my seat!!!)

Anani heard his screams from their bed. She ran outside. She was a knowledge sim, well trained from La Fiesta to realize what had happened. Roger had been abducted. Anani felt a lurch from her stomach. How could this happen when they had so many troubles already? Bawling, she stood at the telescope all night, against doctor's orders.

Before daylight, "they" returned.

Roger was thrown unceremoniously from the saucer.

He never EVER wanted to go back. Believe you me, that would be the last time he touched that goddamn telescope.

The pair, happy to be together again, cuddled in bed all morning. Roger nearly forgot Vamsi's promise until the doorbell rang.

"Ah, that must be the Chinese!" Anani grinned. "The baby's gotta eat you know!" She grabbed her check book and opened the door.

It was Vamsi. And she didn't seem shocked at the state of the house.

She followed Anani into the one room where they ate and slept.

Tears began to roll down both Anani and Vamsi's cheeks. They embraced each other gladly. "I'm so sorry... I was stupid, I didn't realize-- obviously you care more about me than furniture or wallpaper." Vamsi looked at her friend. "You never should have thought differently." They hugged for awhile more. Roger looked on, heartened by their renewed friendship. The two went outside and Roger called for Ocean, so they could leave them in piece.

It wasn't until the two were on the sidewalk that Anani noticed. "Oh! Oh! My! When?" Vamsi smiled to herself. "I just found out a month ago, Ocean and I kept it a secret from Roger.... I wanted to tell you myself." The baby it turned out, was not due for a few more months, but Vamsi was huge and very excited. They got along and talked until the wee hours of the night. Vamsi finally left Anani though, she knew that just laying down wasn't enough. Anani needed rest if she ever was going to have the energy to have the child.

Roger and Anani slept well that night. Their friends were back and things would be well. Early that morning though, Anani felt the labor pains her doctor had instructed her on. (I should have a picture here, but apparently I didn't take any... gah). It was a long and difficult pregnancy and Roger was frightened, it being the first one and all. He would learn to be so comfortable eventually with Anani's labor that he would go to work on the due date. (Silly man.)

Finally, Anani was holding her baby boy in her arms. Roger ahemed, and she smiled at him. Okay, their baby boy... Cade Malone. He was gorgeous and she knew that there was a bright and happy future for him. Roger was beside himself with happiness. This would be their boy to take on the family someday. His son.

Minutes later, the Waltons were informed of the baby's arrival. Vamsi and Ocean were excited to see him the next day, at a more decent hour. They were happy, but, when Roger told them of the other news in the house, they were more shocked.

It turned out, that little adventure in the sky that Roger was refusing to bring up in the conversation anymore... well, there are always consequences. Vamsi and Ocean could barely believe it, and Roger himself still had doubts. But the pregnancy was obvious.

Vamsi was a frequent visitor to Cade's crib. She loved her friend's baby. Cade would be like a little nephew to her, or a godson. Vamsi rubbed her belly. And a friend to this baby too. Also, Roger was a worrisome pregnant man. Constantly, he worried about the baby's health and what would be the best thing for the future baby. Since they were both pregnant, it was easy for Vamsi to calm her friend's fears.

It was easy for Roger to be calmed down by other things as well. He had a new son, who made him happier beyond belief.

Vamsi went home after a visit to the Malones, and instantly went into labor. It wasn't difficult for Vamsi, and soon she was holding a son of her own in her arms.

His name had been decided for months, Owen. And, not to anyone's surprise (especially mine... these are going to be boring babies.), little Owen had brown hair and the natural brown eyes, just like both Vamsi and Ocean.

Some time later, in the house across the street, Roger was going through the most difficult pain of his life.

Anani tried to coach him on, but the pain- it was excruciating... blinding... he screamed "REMIND ME NEVER TO DO THIS AGAIN!" Anani had to repress herself from laughing and replying, "well, honey, it's not like you had a choice." But the two made it through it, and before Roger knew it, he was holding a baby alien girl.

The bundle of joy became Xina.

And, Roger soon started taking hundreds of pictures, because, well, Xina is just the most darling, cutest alien baby ever.

After the families filled their scrapbooks of their new children, they both knew life would never be the same. Ocean and Vamsi, in their brownstone across the way of Cherry Tree Lane, peered in Owen's crib, knowing that soon the pitter patter of little feet would be gracing their house, and that hopefully Owen would have plenty of siblings to roughhouse with. Across the street, Roger and Anani smiled at their little home. Anani had always despised living in the same room as everything else, but now two little cribs stood side by side. The two were not far apart in age, and she knew that little Cade and Xina would soon be terrible toddlers but terrific friends.

Chapter 4: The Double Wedding

It wasn't long before Vamsi, Ocean and Roger graduated. The day after their graduation parties, the four decided to finally commeorate their weddings. Together!

They called up quite a bit of old college friends from the Secret Society and of course Oresha-Var and their double wedding began.

They had so many guests. A few of their friends were completely rude, going on with the hackysack rather than watching the wedding respectfully, but except for those in the back row, no one noticed.

"Do you Ocean Walton, knowing this woman's love for you and returning it, realizing her strengths and learning form them, recognizing her weaknesses and helping her to overcome them, take Vamsi Cormier to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do."

"Do you Anani Malone, knowing this man's love for you and returning it, realizing his strengths and learning from them, recognizing his weaknesses and helping him to overcome them, take Roger Tsvirkunov to be your lawfully wedded husband?

A slight sniffle escaped Anani and she looked Roger in the eye. "I do."

The happy crowd cheered...

As Roger and Anani smooched...

As did Ocean and Vamsi.

The reception was a blast. There was tons of food and champagne, and plenty of people to chat it up with.

Of course, they each had to eat the cake.

Some more gracefully than others.

And after more cheering with champagne...

And a lot more kissing...

The night ended when a fabulous limo picked each couple up separately. Vamsi and Ocean would be going to the Hamptons, while Anani and Roger flew to Aruba. The girls hugged each othe dearly. "Now, Ocean's bought the lot across from yours, Ani." "I know," Anani responded tearfully. "I'll miss you till then. I'll stop over to see you the minute you get back."

and so began their double life.

Chapter 3: A Graduation Party and a Mysterious Inheritance

Before she knew it, school was over, she had her Summa Cum Laude (yes, honors!) robes on and Anani was officially graduated. It was scary to think that. Roger was depressed behind her, he had two more years left and they had made no commitment to one another. He had made no secret of the fact that he loved Anani and wanted a family with her, but now he wondered. Would he have place with her? Anani hardly noticed him tonight, her thoughts were completely surrounded around her memories of her time at La Fiesta Tech. She and her three roommates (Vamsi, Ocean and Roger) had had so many good times... it would be hard to forget stuff like...

al those evenings spent in the hot tub, talking about mutal friends, philosophy and their futures.

that time that Officer Brenzel had to stop by when Ocean decided it'd be a great idea to hack his grades... and confiscated the computer. They missed the computer, but it was one of the more hilarious moments...

the evenings gorging cheap pizza at Joe's.

or when the four decided to start their own co-ed fraternity, Oresha-Var...

and it became one of the largest houses on campus, a lasting testament to their friendship and years at La Fiesta Tech.

oh yeah, and the whole school thing.

As the years progressed, they each got their own look too. Roger became very interested in music and in jazz. Especially, he loved his bass and played it any moment he could.

Anani turned into a punk rocker for a bit. It was only a phase of rebellion, and luckily her hair had grown out for graduation. She wouldn't want to enter the real world with a mohawk.

Ocean got glasses and well, Vamsi stayed pretty much the same.

Hey, I like my look!

Anani eventually cleared her head of her reminscing. She glanced over and saw Roger looking mopey in the front yard. "Roger?" She called out, walking across the lawn to him. She got down on two knees. Anani had been planning this for some time. She pulled a small velvet box out of her soft robes. "You make me happy." She said simply. "I can't see my life without you."

His answer, of course, was yes. And everyone around clapped. Ocean and Vamsi clapped the hardest, exchanging big grins. Finally, their foursome would remain so forever.

The only thing left was a huge graduation party, which was a success. The four cleaned up a bit, and everyone went to bed. Except Anani. She walked down to the kitchen and threw away a few extra Fruit Punch cups when she heard a sharp tap at the door. She glanced at the clock above the sink. 4 am was late for anyone to be stopping by. Nervously, she peered at the spy glass. No one was there. Cautiously, Anani opened the door and saw a small white envelope addressed to a Miss Malone.

Standing in the kitchen, with a shaky hand she cut open the envelope. The note read:

Miss Malone,

I extend my congratulations on your graudation, especially with honors. You have worked hard and it is obvious you earned the title of Summa Cum Laude. May you go out into the world and learn more about reality. I know you have nothing and I have a gift of inheritance. Enclosed in this letter is a cheque for $4800 and a deed to a house in Kingsbury. The house is known as the Malone Manor. It is unfurnished, but see to it that it is well loved and inhabited. Do with the money as you like. Again, congratulations.

Anani stood in shock at the kitchen table for what seemed like eternity. Her mouth dry, she re-read each line of the short letter. Who was this person? Why? How? Her mind flooded with questions she looked at the deed for the house and again at the clock. She made a quick call, jumped in a taxi and immediately sought out this new home. When Anani returned, it was in puzzlement and in tense excitement. She couldn't tell much from the outside but if this all was legal, it looked like Anani (and someday Roger) would call it home.

This was easily the oddest and most exciting day of her life.
